She won two of her four Grammy award nominations in 2014 for her 2013 debut studio album, Pure Heroine.
And Lorde took to social media on Tuesday to announce her second studio album, Meldorama, is also up for a prestigious music award in 2018.
The 21-year-old posed with a drink close to her lips, writing: ‘got a whiskey n a grammy nom.’
Lorde has been nominated for Album Of The Year and is up against four other artists, including Jay Z, Childish Gambino, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar.
She shared the announcement to her Instagram Story, with the caption: ‘This is the sh** that makes me proud…’
While Lorde appeared in high spirits with her nomination, many of her 5.7 million fans expressed their disappointment with the news.
Fans were quick to notice that Lorde, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, was only nominated for Album Of The Year and missed out on nominations in other categories, including Best Pop Vocal Album, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
‘You deserve more than one,’ a passionate fan commented.
‘YES YOU DID QUEEN AND YOU DESERVE IT even though you didn’t get nominated for anything else which is crazy!’ another said.
