MTV announced nominations for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards

MTV announced nominations for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday using Instagram Live.

Kendrick Lamar landed the most nominations of the year with eight nods for his video HUMBLE. Katy Perry and The Weeknd are tied for five nominations each.

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 27.

Video Of The Year went to five top artists, including Lamar for Humble, Bruno Mars for 24K Magic, Alessia Car for Scars To Your Beautiful, DJ Khaled with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller for Wild Thoughts and The Weeknd for Reminder.

Best pals Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift will go head to head in the Best Collaboration category.

They will face off with frenemy Katy Perry.
