A vlogger whose ‘Eel-Gate’ broadcast became infamous after she shoved a live eel up her vagina – and nearly died – has been arrested
The vlogger, surnamed Zhang, went by the nickname ‘Qi Qi’, and streamed the broadcast via an illegal Chinese streaming platform ‘Tiger’.
During one of her broadcasts, she allegedly placed a condom over a live Asian swamp eel and inserted it into her vagina to masturbate.
However, the slippery animal made its up the woman’s body and she had to be rushed into surgery to have it removed.
There were also rumours that Zhang had died during the operation, but she later posted a picture of her surgical scar on social media to prove otherwise.
Some 22 people, including the vlogger surnamed Zhang, have been nabbed during the operation in Zhejiang Province in East China where the illegal streaming platform known as “Tiger” was based.
The National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications said Tiger was founded in February this year and began formal operations a month later, hiring thousands of vloggers for their porn broadcasts.
According to investigative reports from May, Tiger had over a million subscribers at the time and earned £822,57 from its operations in just two months.
The anti-porn authority noted that, since January, it has already closed 73 illegal live-streaming platforms.
