Since the Black Lives Movement started. There has been calls for Black celebrities to speak up about the issue, but mainly to no avail. So it was a surprise to view Beyonce’s Music video “Formation” at its release. It finally appears like the mega star is speaking up. But here is the Problem….
There is Backlash from some fans and Former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani, who claims the stars performance on Sunday Superbowl was an attack on Police. Some are going as far as threatening to boycott her tour.
Some of the Backlash also comes from those who feel she is trying to catch in (make money) through the Black Lives Matter movement…
Personally, we can’t see anything wrong with the performance or the symbol of the music itself. I mean if we were honest the lyrics really did not match the Video. We however got the idea. Beyonce is finally speaking up and a lot of people seem to be up in arms.
Even More so Rudy Giuliani is facing more backlash.

Giuliani’s criticism is everything that is wrong with the current mentality of police forces everywhere and those that support them. Giuliani has as much to do with San Francisco, the police there, or the events involved as the Pope does. Or Putin, for that matter. He’s completely uninvolved, knows as little detail as any average citizen, but immediately calls out criticism of the officers involved or those that prevent prosecution of them as an “attack” on all police everywhere.
Such people as the former mayor of one of the largest cities anywhere, one that has had more than its own fair share of corruption issues, should be in favor of thorough investigations and prosecutions of such officers. What’s more, given such a position, even if he believes the officers are justified, he should be lamenting that she and others feel that way and see what they can do to show why such officers shouldn’t be prosecuted. But when someone who held such a lofty position makes statements like this, it says that everything that Beyonce and others fear, that there is the blue line that will not be crossed, that they will look after their “us”, but not “them”, and that there is never to be justice for those who commit crimes while in uniform. It completely discredits the idea that there is no kneejerk protection of dirty cops by others that bring shame and dishonor upon entire departments.
If you feel like officers are getting unduly accused, you’re allowed to believe so, but if you hold a position of such power, you should hold the views of those not in blue in the same regard as those in uniform. That’s what equal protection under the law means.
While Our Bus is passing through. We are staying abrazed of the conversation which #formation seems to have inevitably started. Both the Backlash & Support for Beyonce and Giuliani can be seen HERE…. Follow the conversation HERE
